Abstract

【Objective】To investigate the clinical features of SAPHO syndrome.【Methods】Retrospectively analyzed clinical data and follow-up results of 6 cases with SAPHO syndrome in our department in the last 4 years and investigate its clinical features, treatment and prognosis with review of the literature. 【Results】There were 1 male and 5 female among the 6 patients. The average age of onset of SAPHO syndrome was between 16 years to 58 years. Two patients had anterior chest wall lesion, 4 patients had sacroiliac joints lesion and 5 patients had peripheral joints disorder. Five cases had palmoplantar pustulosis and l had acne fulminans. There were no specific results of laboratory test. Non-steroid anti-inflammatory drugs were the first choice for the treatment of SAPHO syndrome. 【Conclusions】It is difficult to diagnosis SAPHO syndrome because its presentation are often various. Prompt SAPHO syndrome recognition, followed by appropriate therapy could produce rapid symptom resolution.
