Abstract
This paper reports the synthesis of the new regent 1-(4-nitrophenyl)-3-(3-methypyridyl)-triazene(NPMPDT) and the color reaction of NPMPDT with cadmium. In the presence of the surface active agent Triton X-100 and in the Na_2B_4O_7-NaOH medium of pH 11.5,the reagent form ayellow complex with cadmium in the molar ratio of 1:4.The molar absorptivity is 2.45×105L·mol~(-1)·cm~(-1) by dual-wavelengh of 450nm and determination wavelengh of 540nm.Beer's law is obeyed in the range of 0~12μg/25mL.The method has been applied to the direct determ ination of cadmium in human hair and waster water with satisfactory results.
