EIGHT NEW SPECIES OF MELANOCHAETA FROM YUNNAN, CHINA (DIPTERA: CHLOROPIDAE)

This paper deals with eight new species of the genus Melanochaeta Bezzi (Chloropidae, Diptera) from Yunnan Province. The types are kept in the Insect Collections of Beijing Agricultural University.1. Melanochaeta unimaculata Yang et Yang, sp. nov. (fig. 1)Similar to M. longicosta (Cherian), but wings hyaline with a larger blackish marking. Mesonotum yellow with a larger black marking; scutellum and postnotum black.Holotype ♂, Yunnan: Lancang Co. (22°6'N, 99°9'E), Apr.20.1981, Yang Chi-kun.2. Melanochaeta bimaculata Yang et Yang, sp. nov. (fig. 2)Similar to M. zhejiangensis Yang et Yang, but wings hyaline with two markings; legs yellow, hind tibiae with black colouration at base.Holotype ♂, Yunnan; Kunming City (25°l'N, 102°7'E), Mar. 24.1981, Yang Chi-kun.3. Melanochaeta La Yang et Yang, sp. nov. (fig. 3)Similar to M. unimaculata Yang et Yang, but wings hyaline without any marking. Holotype ♀, Yunnan: Kunming City,(25°l'N, 102°7'E), May.16.1981, Li Fasheng.4. Melanochaeta separata Yang et Yang, sp. nov. (fig. 4) Similar to M. luteopilosa (Cherian), but antennae yellow and mesonotum yellow with black markings.Holotype ♀, Yunnan: Kunming City (25°1'N, 102°7'E). May.16.1981, Li Fasheng. Para-types 9♀♀, same as holotype.5. Melanochaeta yunnanensis Yang.et Yang, sp. nov. (fig. 5)Similar to M. separata Yang et Yang, but thorax pattern different as shown in fig. 5A.Holotype ♂, paratypes 2♂♂, Yunnan: Lincang Co. (fig. 6)Similar to M. yunnanensis Yang et Yang, but legs yellow and middle and hind femora with distinct black stripes at base and tip. (fig. 7)Similar to M. separata Yang et Yang, but thorax pattern different as shown in fig. 7. Legs yellow and hind tibiae with blackish stripes at base.Holotype ♀, paratypes 3♀♀, Yunnan: Jinghong Co. (22°0'N, 100°8'E), 620m, Apr.12. 1981, Yang Chi-kun et Li Fasheng.8. Melanochaeta parca Yang et Yang, sp. nov. (fig|8)This new species is very peculiar. Thorax markings are not distinct.
