Abstract
Objective To observe the effect of Zhongfengkang on the infarct volume of focal cerebral ischemia rats. Methods To make the model of focal cerebral ischemia by inserting nylon thread. Compared with Buchangnaoxintong, the effect of Zhongfengkang on infarct volume of focal cerebral ischemia rats were observed in 6, 12, 24, 48 h after cerebral ischemia. Results Compared with sham operation group, in 6 h after cerebral ischemia, infarct volume increased rapidly (P0.01). With time of cerebra ischemia extending, the infarct volume of focal cerebral ischemia rats devoloped slowly. However, infarct volume deflate in 48 h after cerebral ischemia (P0.01). Compared with model group of the same time, the infarct volume of each treatment groups were decreased, and the high dose group is markedly (P0.05 or P0.01). Conclusion Through reducing infarct volume, Zhongfengkang could reduce damage of cerebral ischemia effectively.
