Abstract

Firewall and intrusion detection system are the two widely used network security productions currently.The paper discusses the developing trends of network security technology by introducing the basic problems of firewall,just as mode conversion,function extension as well as performance improvement,specifying the application of IDS and IPS in intrusion detection technology.
