s:As a typical poet of Song Poetry, Huang Tingjian aroused people's controversial criticism to his poetry which were writlen in variacs styles. Tet on the whole his poetry are classified into two main categories:involved and abstruse style and plain style. People attribute the features of his poetry to poet's curious character and a desire to create an unique style. But the reasons for the formation of the two contradictory styles are different,which will be explained in this paper from the angle of Huang's curios character.
