Abstract

The effect of different nitrogen treatment on yield and quality of forage maize seed and straw stalk was investigated under the condition of the yield.Field test results show that when applying pure nitrogen 0~450 kg/hm2,yield of maize seed and straw stalk was increased. When applying pure nitrogen 375 kg/hm2,yield of straw stalk was the highest. When applying pure nitrogen 450 kg/hm2,seed yield was the highest. When applying pure nitrogen over 375 kg/hm2,economic efficiency will drop. With increasing of applying nitrogen, crude protein concentration was increased, neutral detergent fiber and acid detergent fiber concentratiom were decreased, cellulose and hemicellulose concentration were decreased, straw stalk quality was improved.
