Reliability and validity of a questionnaire on zinc nutritional knowledge,attitude,and practice in medical students

Objective To test the reliability and validity of a self-designed questionnaire on zinc nutritional knowledge,attitude and practice(KAP).Methods Medical students of 4 classes from Grade One to Grade Four were sampled with a stratified random cluster sample method,and they received the questionnaire survey,and one class was randomly selected from the first investigation to receive the questionnaire survey again two weeks later.Based on these data,the internal consistent reliability,test-retest reliability,construct validity,and discriminant validity were calculated. Results The Cronbach's α coefficients were more than 0.7 and retest coefficients were more than 0.8.Factor analysis results conformed to logic relation,and the cumulative variance was 58.34%.KAP on zinc of the students was different among grades(F=3.693,P0.05). Conclusions This questionnaire is reliable and valid,and it could be applied to assess zinc nutritional knowledge,attitude,and practice in medicine students.
