Abstract

Objective:To evaluate the presence of Yersinia enterocolitica in the imported goods of frozen raw meat and seafood in China. Methods:All samples were assayed by the national standard method,Strains isolated and identified as Yersinia entercolitica were further analysed for serotype and biotype. Results:From 247 samples including chicken, seafood, pork and turkey,17(6.88%) samples were found to be contaminated with Y.enterocolitica.Among the 17 strains of Y. enterocolitica,16 strains were isolated from chicken,1 strains were isolated from pork, while no positive result was found in 94 seafood samples. Conclusion:Of all the samples chicken show the highest isolation rate of Y.enterocolitica.The isolation rate of seafood and pork are relatively low.
