Abstract

Objective To evaluate the clinical value of speckle tracking imaging in the measurement of regional shortening fraction and circumferential strain in patients with myocardial ischemia. Methods Twenty-nine patients with myocardial ischemia and twenty-eight healthy subjects underwent echocardiography, high frame rate two-dimensional images were recorded from the left ventricular short-axis views at the levels of mitral annulus, regional shortening fraction and circumferential strain were measured in the left ventricular short-axis views using two-dimensional strain software. Results Circumferential strain curve, regional shortening fraction curve in healthy group changed regularly, while in myocardial ischemia patients, the curve changed irregularly.Regional shortening fraction and circumferential strain in myocardial ischemia patients showed significant reduction compared with normal myocardium(P0.05).Conclusion Speckle tracking imaging can accurately measure the two-dimensional strain in patients with myocardial ischemia.
