Abstract
Five TMV isolates from pepper in North Xinjiang were studied using TMV om as control by biological trait, serological reaction, polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis analysis of the peroxidase (POD) isozymes and esterase (EST) isozymes of infected pepper. It is shown that TMV infecting pepper exists in natural differentiation in North Xinjiang; the five TMV isolates are distinct different pathogenity, and can be divided into four groups according to symptom reaction: systematic necrotic type; yellow white mosaic type; green mosaic type; mild mosaic type. The TMV isolates are also distinct with other TMV isolates or strains from pepper which have been reported
