Abstract

The dental zirconia-leucite porcelain powder was synthesized in-situ by high temperature solid-state method using potassium feldspar, potassium carbonate and zirconium oxide as raw materials. The mechanical properties and coefficient of thermal expansion of porcelain powder were tested. The experimental results showed that the bending strength, the fracture toughness and the intensity of metal-ceramic integrated of porcelain powder prepared by the in-situ synthesis method were much better than those prepared by the indirect synthesis method, and reached 105.3 MPa,3.3 MPa /m1/2 and 42.1 MPa,respectively. There were two kinds of crystalline phases existing in the porcelain powder, zirconium oxide and leucite, which would not only be good for increasing the mechanical property, but also contribute to adjusting the expansion coefficient of the ceramic material to match for Ni-Cr dental alloys.
