Abstract

In Marx's historical materialism, ideology is a key concept. It serves as a pivot point for Marx to criticize the old world and to find a new world. His concept of ideology is the success and development of that of the revolutionary of the rising capitalists since renaissance. Among them British materialism, French enlightenment thinking and German classic philosophy have provided rich theoretical resources for the formation of Marx's scientific concept of ideology.
