Abstract

Confucian philosophers of Song Dynasty tried to interpret The Book of Songs from a rational point of view, and at the same time expressed their own views on poetry writing and reading. Their attention to the urge for poetic creation and emphasis on the good and kind greatly influenced poetic studies of Song Dynasty, bridging the gap between philosophical studies and poetic studies.
