Abstract
Objective To acquire the demands of residents for medical care,guide the hospitals to satisfy the needs for medical services and provide the basis for improving hospitalizing behavior of residents by researching the intention of community residents for hospitalizing behavior with different insurance level and related factors in Shanghai,China.Methods The research was carried out on the basis of a self-made questionnaire,which included the gender,age,medical insurance,educational degree,and the choice of hospital institution and the factors in case of sickness.This survey was launched in August,2008 and ended in December,2008.All the questionnaires were handed out,filled in and collected with the assistance of occupational medical staff and community committee.Results The informants with different kinds of medical insurance preferred to the superior hospital,while the informants with cooperative medical scheme and semi-medical insurance preferred to the elementary hospital.The informants with cooperative medical scheme and semi-medical insurance choose the medical expense as main factor for hospitalizing.The main factor for informants with medical insurance on not choosing elementary hospital was the short of medicine.Conclusion Hospitalizing behavior of residents is affected by medical insurance.More attention should be paid to elders.
