Abstract

[Objective]To understand the natural infection rate of Angiostrongylus cantonensis in Achatina fulica and Ampullaria gigas from countryside of Jiangmen district of Guangdong province.[Methods]With the Digestion Method, the Achatina fulica and Ampullaria gigas were transacted from the district.[Results]465 of Achatina fulica and 720 of Ampullaria gigas were examined.Their infective rate of Angiostrongylus cantonensis are 41.94% and 1.81%,their infectiosity are 1~928 and 1~29 respectively. The larger in size Achatina fulica and Ampullaria gigas are,the higher their infective rate and infectiosity of Angiostrongylus cantonensis are.[Conclusion]Baisha industry base and neighborhood of Jiangmen district in Guangdong province is a natural nidus of Angiostrongylus cantonensis.
