Abstract

Objective To study the treatment of laternal malleolus fracture with operation and without operation.Methods The operative cases(25 cases)were treated with internal fixation,and the nonoperative cases(15 cases)were treated with plaster external fixation.All the cases were followed up for an average of 2.5 years.Results The excellent and good rate of operation group was 84.0%;the excellent and good rate of nonoperation group was 86.7%.Conclusion The type of simple laternal malleolus fracture should be treated with nonoperation,but the type of laternal malleolus fracture with rupture of the deltoid ligament should be treated with operation.
