Lymph node dissection of central group in the treatment of papillary thyroid cancer

Objective With the premier of complete removal of caninoma,lymph node dissection of central group can improve the treatment effect of papillary thyroid cancer.Methods Twenty cases of papillary thyroid cancer undertook operation in our hospital during recent 5 years,of which 3 had lobectomy,15 had excision of involved lobe isthus and great lobectomy of the opposite side,2 had total thyroidectomy,all above patients had lymph node dissection of central group.Results All cases had uneventful recovery after operation,only 1 case complicated with temporary recurrent larygeal nerve injury,1 case with temporary hypoparathyroidism,with no cervical recurrence.Conclusion Lymph node dissection of central group have the same effect as routine cervical lymph node dissection,but less side effect,so it is a good way for the treatment of papillary thyroid cancer.
