On XU Chengyao's Poetry Theory and Its Change

There were different poetry schools in the poetry circle in Later Qing Dynasty.XU Chengyao always kept his unique features both in poetry writing and theory,and changed obviously with time elapsing,to which,however,the academic areas have not paid attention.His poetry theory contains five parts: studying from different schools without prejudice;advocating using flowery language;expressing emotion from heart frankly;deliberating words in order to be forceful;making the artistic conception simple but elegant.Compared with other poetry schools at the time,these views are of high inclusiveness and abundance,and expand people's horizon.
