Abstract
Objective:The aim of this study to assess the CT images in ground glass opacity signs(GGO) and histopathologic findings for correlations.Methods:Forty-three patients(45 nodules) with small peripheral lung cancer were studied. Each of the 43 cases had exhibited pure ground glass opacity(PGGO) and mixed ground glass opacity(MGGO).The pathological features were analyzed according to three types of GGO contains on CT imagines. Results:GGO Ⅰ type contains 91%~100% type(n=11),all of patients had bronchioloalveolar carcinoma(BAC);GGO Ⅱ type contains 51%~91% type(n=21),eleven patients had BAC, four patients had well-differentiated adenocarcinoma accompany BCA,four patients had well-differentiated adenocarcinoma, two patients had moderately differentiated adenocarcinoma, two patients had poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma;GGO Ⅲ type contains can not exceed 50% type(n=13),three patients had BCA,five patients had moderately differentiated adenocarcinoma, three patients had poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma, two patients had poorly differentiated squamocarcinoma. We also found the higher GGO contains, the better pathological of lung cancer. Conclusion:Focal area of ground glass is not only an important sign of small peripheral lung cancer but also prognosis the type of pathology, differentiate condition, doubling time and prognosis by half-quantitated GGO contains.
