Abstract

Environmental impact assessment has important influence on a series of major decisions such as the socio-economic development and environmental protection,etc.This paper reviews the course and the direction of the development of the environmental impact assessment,including the development of cleaner production strategies,improvement of the mechanism for public participation,promotion of the assessment on ecological construction projects,improvement of environmental risk assessment,and plan of environmental impact assessment and strategic environmental assessment.
