Abstract

Dong Zhongshu,the No. 1 Confucian scholar after the Qin dynasty,inherits the thoughts of the pre-Qin thinkers,opens the pattern of as the Main State Ideology and classics of the Han and Tang dynasties. In addition,he has also influences on New in the Song dynasty. Dong Zhong-shu has equal status with Confucius and Zhu Xi in Chinese history of Confucianism and culture. This paper discusses from eight aspects and points out that morality,harmony,authoritative persons loving people and people as root are the fundamental value ideas.
