Abstract
Objective To study the efficacy of medical instrument disinfection solution in disinfection of instruments and its related properties. Methods Physicochemical analytic method, carrier quantitative and qualitative germicidal test methods and animal toxicity test method were used to carry out laboratory observation. Results The available chlorine content of the stock solution of the instrument disinfection solution was 20.9 g/L and decreased by 8.61% in average after storing at 37℃ constant temperature for 90 days. The average killing logarithm value of Bacillus subtilis var.niger spores on carrier immersed in the instrument disinfection solution containing available chlorine 2000 mg/L for 5 min was 4.36 and the spores of B.subtilis var.niger on carrier exposed for 20 min could be killed completely. The spores of B.subtilis var.niger on joints of hemostatic forceps exposed to the disinfection solution containing available chlorine 4000 mg/L for 20 min could be killed completely. The four metal coupons including stainless steel, carbon steel, copper and aluminum immersed in the disinfection solution containing available chlorine 4000 mg/L for 72 h were essentially not corroded. The mouse oral LD50 of the instrument disinfection solution was 5000 mg/kg(bw) and its mouse bore marrow polychromatic erythrocyte micronucleus test was negative. The result of stimulating rabbit vagina mucosa once test showed that the stock solution of the disinfection solution was very mild irritating. Conclusions The instrument disinfection solution is stable, low toxic, essentially not corrosive to metals. Its solution at conventional concentration has good efficacy in killing bacterial spores on carriers.
