Abstract
By using bisphenol A bis(diphenyl) phosphate ester(BDP), organic montmorillonite(OMMT) and epoxy resin(EP),flame retarded resin BDP-EP and BDP-OMMT-EP were prepared. The flame retardancy effect and flame retardant mechanism of BDP and BDP-OMMT were evaluated using limiting oxygen index, horizontal and vertical firing, thermogravimetric analysis and cone calorimetry. The experimental results show that the peak heat release rate of the flame retarded resins is lower than that of the pure EP.The flame retardant effect of BDP outdoes BDP-OMMT,that is,BDP and OMMT don't have synergistic flame retardancy.
