Abstract

Objective To investigate the changes of cerebral blood flow in patients with hypertension. Methods Transcranial Doppler ultrasonography was performed on 150 cases with hypertension to detect the velocity of blood flow of middle cerebral artery(MCA), anterior cerebral artery(ACA), posterior cerebral artery(PCA), vertebral artery(VA), basilar artery(BA), and S/D, PI, RI, frequency spectrum. Results 124 cases were detected to be abnormal in velocity and frequency spectrum of cerebral blood flow, the abnormal rate was 94%. S/D, PI, RI et al had a significant difference among four age groups. Conclusion This study shows that transcranial Doppler ultrasonography can detect the velocity changes of blood flow and vascular elasticity directly in the Willis ring vas.\;
