Abstract
A laboratory-scale anaerobic ammonia oxidation reactor seeded with the mixture of aerobic activated sludge and anaerobic activated sludge was successfully started up.The influent concentration of ammonia and nitrite each was 20mmol/L after successful start-up;the volumetric loading rate of ammonia, nitrite and total nitrogen are 10.69mmol/L.d, 12.26 mmol/L.d and 394.55mg/L.d respectively;ammonia, nitrite and total nitrogen removal were over 90%?99% and 95% individually. It was verified that the optimal pH of ANAMMOX reaction was between 7~7.5,the optimal temperature was 30±1℃,and the higher the nitrite concentration was,the lower the ammonia and nitrite removal, the optimal COD concentration value for the bioreaction was 800±50mg/L.
