Abstract
The distribution and characteristics of the subduction zone, configuration of the Wadati- Benioff zone and the stress state of the subduction zone in the western Pacific region were studied; the interaction between the Pacific plate, Philippine sea plate and Eurasia plate and its influence on the continent of east asia were discussed; the anomaly in the mantle caused by the subducted slab was calculated using FEM,four posibilities of the penetration of the subducted slab to the 660Km.discontinuity were proposed. The variation of physical properties and the negative buoyancy of the subducted slab were calculated numerically.Study on the influence of the subduction zone, on the structure and evolution of the continent in east Asiaand on the relation and evolution of the subduction zones were proposed.
