Abstract

Aim: To evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of Mosapride treatment to functional dyspepsia. Methods: A total of 47 patients with functional dyspepsia were divided randomly into two group. Mosapride group of 23 patients was treated with Mosapride for 4 weeks, including 14 male and 9 female, aged (37.4±14.7) a. Cisapride group of 24 patients was treated with Cisapride for 4 weeks, including 12 male and 12 female, aged (33.8± 11.3) a. Results: The effective rates of Mosapride and Cisapride in treating early satiety, epigastric fullness, epigastric pain, nausea, vomit, decrease of food intake, pyrosis, heart burn, belch and symptom of the alimentary canal relief rate were not different when treated for 14 and 28 d (P0.05).The rates of gastric emptying were not significant between 2 groups (P 0.05). Four cases had diarrhea or bellyache and two cases had light headedness during the treatment of Mosapride group.Three cases had diarrhea or bellyache and one case had light headedness in Cisapride group. Conclusion: Mosapride is a new safe efficacious drug for treating functional dyspepsia.
