Expression of GPC3 mRNA detected by Realtime quantitative RT-PCR among patients with hepatocellular carcinoma and its significance

Objective To explore expression of GPC3 mRNA in perpheral blood detected by Realtime quantitative(Realtime QRT-PCR) among patients with hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) and its significance.Methods GPC3mRNA in perpheral blood were detected by Realtime RT-PCR in 37 patients with HCC,21 with metastatic liver cancer,22 with cirrhosis and 35 health volunteers.Results GPC3 mRNA positive rate in HCC patients was 91.8%(34/37),and the expression level was(1.5€?.9)€?06 copies/ml;GPC3 mRNA positive rate in metatastic liver cancer was 4.7%(1/21),and the level was 5.2×103copies/ml;GPC3 mRNA positive rate in cirrhosis patients was 4.5%(1/22),and the level was 2.6×103 copies/ml;GPC3 mRNA in health volunteers was negative.Conclusions ealtime QRT-PCR is a sensitive and reliable method for detecting circulating HCC cells.
