Similarities and Differences between SU Shi’s Poems,Lyrics and Essays in Reply to TAO Yuan-ming

Abstract

SU Shi passed on hundreds of poems,lyrics and essays replying to TAO Yuan-ming,which recorded the dialogues and communication between these two great poets in different dynasties.Close origins of creation,similar writing styles,and the same writing purpose make the poems,lyrics and essays by SU Shi have something in common.But due to the differences in stylistic characteristics and authors’creation attitudes,they have distinctive features: poems are neat,lyrics simple but elegant,and essays unrestrained.
