Abstract

A new absorbent material was prepared from chitosan, acrylamide and acrylic acid by cross-linking reaction and solution polymerization, using ammonium persulfate as the intiator and glutaradehyde and N,N'-methylenebisacrylamide as the cross-linking agent. Its adsorptive property to adsorb toxic Hg(Ⅱ) ions was studied. When the mass fraction of acrylic acid was 25%,pH=5 and adsorption time 200min,the adsorption behavior of Hg2+ was better.
