Abstract

Based on foreign and domestic research on ecosystem health assessment, the basic principles for selecting indicators for ecosystem health assessment in the Yellow River Delta were proposed with consideration of the actual conditions in the area. With consideration of functional integration, ecological characteristics, and social environment,an operational assessment indicator system for the ecosystem health of wetlands was constructed using 3S technology, which was regarded as the key technology. With reference to some foreign and domestic evaluation criteria, the 27 indicators were classified into different grades according to their influences on the ecosystem health of the wetlands.AHP was used to determine the weights of the indicators.A case study was conducted in Kenli County for assessment of the ecosystem health of the wetland, verifying that the constructed indicator system is reasonable.
