Abstract
In the present experiment, the following contents were studied in goats by means of histological methods:① The number of ciliated cells in the ampulla of the oviduct reached the maximum at the estrus( 6.3/50 μm)and the minimum at the diestrus(3.9/50μm),but the number of the secretory cells was the most numerous at the diestrus(7.2/50μm)and decreased to the minimum at the estrus(4.2/50μm).The changes of the ciliated and the secretory cells in the isthmus followed the same pattern as in the ampulla.②The number of the ciliated cells in the ampulla of the superovulated does at estrus(5.3/50μm)was less than that of the naturally cycling does(6.3/50μm),and the secretory cells in the former at both estrus and metestrus were also less numerous than in the latter. The number of the ciliated cells in the isthmus of the superovulated does was similar to that of the naturally cycling ones, but the secretory cells in this part of the oviduct were fewer in the superovulated does than those in the naturally cycling ones at estrus and metestrus.③ The number of the uterine glands at the metestrus(91.8 per field of vision)and the diestrus (94.9 per field of vision) was significantly(P0.05) higher than that at the proestrus (78.3 pre field of vision) and the estrus(73.4 per field of vision)in the naturally cycling does.
