Abstract
[Objective]To evaluate the measles monitoring system and find out epidemiological characteristics of measles in Heze City in 2005.[Methods]Descriptive epidemiological analysis was conducted on the epidemiology of measles based on the data collected from the regular report system of infectious diseases, special report system of measles.[Results]442 suspected measles cases were reported in 2005 from the special report system compared with 381 suspected measles cases from the regular system report of infectious diseases. The report rate of the suspected cases was 91.18% after the measles occurred within 7days while the investigating rate was 87.56% within 48 hours after the cases were reported and the completeness rate of investigating was 100.00%.Serum specimen was collected from 56.33% of the suspected patients. The diagnosis of 380 cases was confirmed. The epidemic of measles was sporadic and local. The incidence of the epidemic in the whole city was influenced by the high incidence in some counties.Of the 380 confirmed cases,89.74% of them occurred from January to May.The confirmed cases from 8 months to 7 years old accounted for 60.00%,59.21% of them had no history or uncertain history of measles immunization.[Conclusion]The coverage of measles immunization was not high in some counties, resulting in high epidemic of measles.
