Abstract

The progress in synthesis of chiral mandelic acid and resolution of racemic mandelic acid are reviewed.The asymmetric synthetic methods and asymmerric biosynthsis of chiral mandelic acid are evaluated,and the chemical and biological methods used as the resolution of racemic mandelic acid are also compared.
