Abstract

Objective:To discuss the gastrointestinal stromal diagnosis and the results of immunohistochemistry. Methods:Thirty six cases of archival which were the surgical resection of gastrointestinal non-epithelial tumors in 1995~2005 in our Hospital were researched. Results:In the typical smooth muscle and nerve tumor,CD117 and CD34 were negative.Positive expressions of CD117 and CD34,were found is gastrointestinal stromal tumours as well as the expression of Desmin and Actin. The neural tumor could be expressed with NSE and S-100.Conclusion:Gastrointestinal stromal tumour is the most common gastrointestinal mesenchymal tumors. The gastrointestinal stromal tumour of biological characteristics is different from intestinal smooth muscle tumours and nerve sheath tumours. The result of immunohistochemical was expressed of CD117 and CD34.
