Abstract
Objective To evaluate the effect of postpartum pelvic floor muscle training in prevention and treatment of urinary incontinence.Methods 156 women were randomized divided into training group and control group.82 women in the training group had participated an eight-week pelvic floor muscle training program instructed by specialized nurse,74 women in the control group only had participated postpartum health instruction.Clinical assessment of pelvic floor muscle training program were taken by questionary,vaginal palpation and a standardized pad test.Results Significantly more women in the control group than in the training group reported stress urinary incontinence,but the scores of pelvic floor muscle strength in the control group was demonstrated lower than in the training group,.Conclusion Postpartum pelvic floor muscle training was effective in prevention and treatment of urinary incontinence.The long effect need to further investgate.
