Abstract

Objective : To supply anatomic parameters for microsurgical treatment of acoustic neurinomas. Methods : Measurements were performed on the pontocerebellar trigone in 35 male adult cadva heads. Results : The distance between knee of transverse sigmoid sinus and posterior border of internal acoustic porus was (35.1 ± 0.2) mm. The width of sigmoid sinus hinitiation was 13.4 mm. The distance between posterior border of internal acoustic meatus and endolym-phytic sac hiatus was (10.5±0.2) mm, the distance between internal acoustic porus and superior petrosal sinus was usually shorter than 5 mm. The distance between internal acoustic porus and jugular foramen was 5.4 mm. On the left, the distance between knee point on the cerebellum and the lateral edge of flocculus was (31.3±0.5) mm; on the right, the distance was (30.4 ± 0.5) mm. On the left, the distance between knee point on the cerebellum and the medial edge of tonsil of cerebellum was (44. 1 ± 0. 4) mm; on the right, the distance was (43. 3 ± 0. 4) mm. Conclusion : These anatomic parameters are important in localization and protection of vital structures during operation.
