A Clinical Case-control Study of NMP22 for Detection of Bladder Cancer

Abstract

Objective:To evaluate the clinical use of NMP22for the diagno sis and surveillance of bladder cancer.Methods:This study was undergone with the clinical case-control study of epideniology.The level of NMP22was measured in the urine of40patients with bladder cancer using the NMP22Test Kit(Matritech,Co).Results:According to the diagnosis standard of USA FDA(10U/ml),the sensitivity and specificity of NMP22for the diagnosis of bladder cancer was100%and65%,respectively.The level of NMP22was evaluated with the increasing of pathological grade and stage(P0.01).The value in recurrent cases was significantly higher than those in original cases(P0.01).The value of NMP22of male,female and at different age in cases with bladder cancer is not significant difference(P0.05).Conclusions:Urinary NMP22is a simple,noninvasive,sensitive test for the diagnosis and surveillance of bladder cancer.
