Abstract
This experiment was performed on SH SY5Y cell lines which had been regarded as dopaminergic cells. We explored the cytotoxicity of Mn(Ⅱ) and Mn(Ⅲ). The MTT assay showed that viability of cells decreased along with the increasing of concentration of Mn(Ⅱ) and Mn(Ⅲ) and their exposure duration. Morphologically, the sharpness of cells changed with exposure duration, cell tended to grow in round sharp and adhered poorly to culture flask. The presence of apoptotic cell was revealed by flow cytometry. The results showed that both Mn 2+ and Mn 3+ could induce apoptosis ,but the latter was much more potent.
