Geological Characteristics and Prospecting Direction of the Woergang Iron Ore Deposit in the Nanning-Wuhu Basin

Abstract
This paper researches the ore-controlling factors and prospecting direction of the Woergang iron ore deposit in Nanning-Wuhu basin,through studies of its metallogenic background and geological characteristics.The Woergang iron ore deposit is located in the intersection part of the NW-and NNE-trending faults in the Nanning-Wuhu rift basin.The ore bodies are mainly hosted and restricted by the shallow and ultra-shallow augite diorite porphyrite rock bodies.This may suggest that the Woergang iron ore deposit belongs to porphyrite iron ore deposit.It is inferred that there is prospecting potential in the deep part of the Woergang iron ore deposit,and the intersection part of the NW-and NNE-trending faults,where augite diorite porphyrite rock body is developed,is a favorable position for prospecting porphyrite iron ore deposit.
