Abstract
Based on objective measurement and characteristics analysis of domestic wool top this paper discussed the yarn processing performance in comparison with those of Australian wool top.In addition a yarn processing and quality control prediction model has been established for domestic wool based on research and processing results.It is shown that the yarn spinning performance of domestic wool is not as good as Australian wool,but the relationships between characteristics of top and spinning performance are similar.Research and practices demonstrated that it is reliable for the model to predict yarn quality and processing performance with relative precision.
