Abstract
Water balance method was applied to calculate recharge from river water infiltration during a large infiltration test in the Hutuo River, and especially to calculate the infiltrating recharge in the water source area. The results showed that the amount of river infiltration water is 14 827 500m3 during the test, and groundwater recharge from river infiltration water is 13 828 900m3.The groundwater recharge coefficient from river infiltration is 93%.The amount of received water in the water source area is 7 425 300m3.Meanwhile,the maximum rising magnitude of groundwater level in the observation wells located in the water source area is 6.823m,indicating apparent groundwater recharge effects.
