THE STUDY ON GUANGYUAN FEMALE SEX WORKER'S KNOWLEDGE AND ATTITUDE OF HIV/AIDS AND SERATEGY

Abstract

Objective:Get infomation on Guangyuan female sex worker's knowledge and attitude of HIV/AIDS in order to obtain reference to develop health education of HIV/AIDS.Methods:Questionnaire investigations were made to study the knowledge and attitude of 349 female sex workers in Guangyuan city between May and July in 2002.Results:93 23% female sex workers had heard HIV/AIDS,but they had no wide and deep understanding on how HIV/AIDS spread and how to prevent HIV/AIDS.They were lack of enough ideas on how to protect them from HIV/AIDS 85 96% female sex workers did not worry about infection of HIV/AIDS for themselves.0 90% female sex workers have had HIV/AIDS screening test voluntarily.Their knowledge of HIV/AIDS was from television.Conclusion:Female sex workers' HIV/AIDS preventive knowledge and ideas on how to protect them from HIV/AIDS are need to be improve.Health education on how to prevent HIV/AIDS is also need to be improved.
