Abstract

A new catalytic kinetic spectrophotometric method for the determination of trace amounts of cobalt was developed. It is based on the kinetic effect of Co(Ⅱ) on the oxidation reaction between H_2O_2 and phloxine in NH_3-NH_4Cl medium. The optimum conditions、kinetic parameters and reaction mechanism of this reaction were studied. the linear range is 0~0.60μg /10mL for Co(Ⅱ),and the determination limit is 5.97×10~(-10)g·mL~(-1). It has been used for the determination of trace cobalt in sucrose and glucose with satisfactory results.
