Abstract

Metamaterial is a novel type of artificial electromagnetic material,and the absorbers made from metamaterial is small,light and can achieve near-unity absorption.The operational frequency of a absorber made from a given kind of metamaterial lies on its geometrical structure and can be geometrically scalable to other regimes of the electromagnetic spectra.In this paper,the work principle of the metamaterial absorber is introduced firstly,then its design method is presented.Lastly,the research status of THz band metamaterial absober are summarized.
