Abstract

Objective To evaluate the relationship between lowering conus medullaris and ischemic spinal cord injury due to drawing tethered spinal cord. Material and Methods Twenty adult patients with ischemic injury of spinal cord due to traction of the tethered s-inal cord at different vertebral levels were observed by MRI,and the degree of the relationship between both was analysed. Results The linear equation of relation between thinned diameter and ischemic injury of spinal cord was Y =-2.04 X +22.83.These results showed negative correlation( r =-0.686)and high significant difference( P 0.01)between both. Conclusion There is close relationship between lowering conus medullaris and ischemic injury of spinal cord due to drawing of tethered spinal cord. [WT5”HZ]
