Investigation and analysis of self foot-care knowledge and behaviours in patients with diabetic foot

Objective To investigate the knowledge and behaviors of self foot-care in patients with diabetic foot.Methods A questionnaire survey was conducted with a sample of 331 outpatients with diabetic foot from 50 tertiary-level hospitals in Beijing.The investigation contents included patient’s demographic data,self foot-care knowledge and behaviors.Results The routine foot-care knowledge and foot problems dealing knowledge of foot-care knowledge in patients with diabetic foot were worst.Checking their shoes and soaking their feet everday of the self foot-care behavious in patients with diabetic foot were worst.Conclusion In order to improve the self foot-care behaviors,more education about the self foot-care knowledge should be given to the patients with diabetic foot or risk factors.
