Abstract
Intercropping of high-oil corn hybrids with either common corn hybrids or male-sterile corn hybrids was practiced to increase the oil output of the latter. The results showed that the reasonable intercropping ratio of Gaoyou 115 with common corn hybrid Nongda 108,male-sterile corn hybrid Yuyu 22,or male-sterile corn hybrid Nongda 3138 was 2∶4,and the suitable planting density was 48000 plants/ha.The grain yield of common corn hybrids increased averagely by 26.5% and 10.6% over high-oil corn hybrids and CK,respectively. The yield of male-sterile corn hybrids increased by 25.2% and 31.6% in average over high-oil corn hybrids and CK,respectively.Average oil content of common corn hybrids,male-sterile corn hybrids, and high-oil corn hybrids was 8.1%,8.1%,and 8.3%,respectively,while that of the CK was 4.2%-4.3%.
