Abstract

Gravity field and some geodynamic characteristics in Mainland of China during 1998-2000 have been analyzed with spatial evolution of gravity field in Mainland of China. The following conclusions are made: ① there is correlation between variation shape of gravity anomalies and spatial distribution of Bouguer gravity anomalies in Mainland of China.② From the strike of contours and its distribution of gravity anomaly variation in Mainland of China, several gradient belts of gravity variation in large scale appeared obviously in the background with total trend of gravity variation anomaly, which are almost consistent with the distribution of tectonic frame of main faults in China. ③ The anomaly area of gravity variation and its gradient belts are closely associated with the distribution of epicenters.④ According to gravity variation in Mainland of China, the area can be divided into three parts: Qinghai-Tibet and its surroundings, southeast foreland and northeast area, which reflected three different stress states.
